2023 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

SCC Offensive Player of the Year, ALL-SCC QB connected on 64% of his passes for the season. Led Union Co. in completions (215), attempts (340), passing yards (3200). Threw for 30 TDs to just 11 interceptions. Led Union Co. in rushing TDs with 16 along with 630 yards rushing. Was named UCHSF Player of the Week for Weeks 2, 8 & 10. Threw for 313 yards and 3 TDs vs. Ardrey Kell. Threw for 306 yards and 4 TDs vs. Cuthbertson. Threw 4 TDs in a game twice. Threw 3 TDs in a game 3 times. Ran for 85 yards and 2 TDs in state semi-finals 34-14 win over Independence. Helped guide Weddington to a 14-2 record, a Co-SCC title and a 4A state title while being named Offensive Player of the Game in the state title win when he threw for 243 yards, 2 TDs and ran for 1 TD in the win. Set Weddington school records for career passing yards (6171) and career passing TDs (62). Tyler is the first back-to-back UCHSF POY since Sun Valley's Sam Howell was in 2016-'17 & '18.
