2022 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The 2022 UnionCountyHighSchoolFootball.com's Defensive Player of the Year is Porter Ridge's Stephen Zayachowsky. Named SCC Defensive Player of the Year and ALL-SCC. Totaled 93 tackles with 55 solo tackles for Porter Ridge. Had a season high 13 stops vs. Hickory Ridge. Recorded 5 games of 10+ tackles. Had 3 interceptions and returned one INT for a TD. Recorded 2 sacks. Rushed for 658 yards and 10 TDs on offense. Finished with 793 all-purpose yards. Zayachowsky was named Week 7 UCHSF Player of the Week after rushing for 3 TDs along with 6 tackles and the game clinching interception. Helped lead the Pirates to an 7-3 record and into the state playoffs. Congratulations Stephen!
